This is what I came up with for the tank setup with a wet sump for a skimmer, and refugium with macro algae, sand and rock, return sump back to the tank

you can glue glass panels to seperate the pumps in one tank. Looks like you have more room for that on the stand too

That would be great but I was on a budget, ended up using Rubbermaid bins for the return and refugium.

Don't trust a siphon overflow. Just drill your tank. Also, why not just put all that in one 40B tank hidden under your stand? If you want your fuge to also display, you can make a hole in the stand.
