that's really cool but wouldn't you like to have the aquarium closer to eye level?

I wouldn't want it at standing eye level, I'd want it at seated eye level so I can stare at it while sitting on the couch eating bon bons.

Thankx guys! Well, bikini bottom, the tank bottom is actually starts at 36". I have my living room sofa sits high. so its perfect eye level. I also wanted a tank set so if someone was walking by they do not have to bend too much to see the reef. I will subit a photo w the sofa so you can see the.

great design and I agree with the seated view... I have my nano close to my bed so I can lie and either watch tv or stare and my fish tank and relax.

what would you build this out of?

wood veneer for the door panels?

and just small suggestion~ I dig the halogen light up top but that top peice doesn't look like it goes with the rest. what if it was black?

or the same color but thinner?

Thanks, well I am building it out of plywood maple veneer. and the black areas may be mdf. the columns will be painted pvc. See the sofa photo i submitted so everyone can see the veiwing angle of the tank. I didnt want it low. 36" is perfect for my application. I do appreciate all suggestions though!
