GHill762 Posted November 5, 2013 that's sexy, but you gotta find a way to hide that cord from the AI... Quote Link to comment
daletu Posted November 5, 2013 Haha... I know. Everyone told me that. I will probably drill a hole in the drywall to hide that wire. That's my next project. Quote Link to comment

Driftwood58 Posted November 6, 2013 really nice!! can you please explain your setup it doesnt appear to have a sump... and what is that on the right hand side... maybe post some more pics of the filtration? or reef doctrine... Quote Link to comment
daletu Posted November 6, 2013 No filtration, relying on live rock, live sand and weekly water change, fingers crossed! I really would like to keep things simple, more equipments just add more possibility to have something go wrong, thats just my way of thinking. If I can't maintain low Nitrate and low Phosphate in the future, then I will consider doing a sump but for now, both parameters are looking good. One the right hand side are VorTech MP10 and Tunze Osmolator. Left hand side is a glass fish food feeder. Quote Link to comment
Driftwood58 Posted November 6, 2013 I like your idea, might run into probs down the road with no skimming but you only have a couple fishies, how old is this baby? Quote Link to comment
daletu Posted November 6, 2013 Tank just finished cycled and started adding corals last week. It's about one and half month old. Used cured live rocks, live sand and half tank of water from my friend's reef tank. Cycle was smooth and easy, a little bit of algae broke out and Nitrate got up to 10ppm at the end of cycle. Now Nitrate is in between 0-5ppm, and Phosphate is 0-0.03ppm steadily. I am hoping to maintain these values down the road. Just started trying to figuring out dosing calcium and alkalinity since I added corals. They seem to drop quite a bit. Quote Link to comment
toronto Posted November 6, 2013 I would add some sort filtration man, even a small aqua clear or canister it will fail eventually you need some filter floss / carbon in there. mark these words in 3-4 months Quote Link to comment
daletu Posted November 6, 2013 I've read people using canister that can have things you don't want build up inside it and just creates more problem. I've heard people have different opinion about filtration for small tank, some said regular water change will do the trick, but some recommend skimmer or some sort of filtration. I guess I will just observe how the tank act and do whatever it needed to be done. I may do a sump if water change doesn't work out. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
