Flame Tip Dragons Breath

I have had this in my Evolve 8 for about a month. It has been an indicator of my needing to upgrade the stock lighting. Everyone says the stock is good enough to keep some corals alive, I haven't heard anyone say that it is enough for some corals to thrive :)

I had this Flame Tipped Dragons Breath macro algae at the sand bed until a week ago. I moved it up to about 3" form the water surface almost dead center and it has amazed me the new growth that has occurred. All of the bright orange tips are from one week of growth.

Yes, Update your lighting. The stock light on the Evolove 8 is not enough for corals to thrive. The LED's used in this light are driven at 0.08 watts. Compare that to the 1-3 watt range that most reefers use in their aquariums and you get the picture. I've read that the Evolve 8 light is good enough for some freshwater plants. Maybe not for reef macros. IDK, but definitely not enough for corals. Good luck! Love that Dragon's Breath!
