Yes between the waste it puts out and the waste of needing to have a large amount of food available to it in the water column it has pushed my plenum grid to the max as far as maintaining perfect water quality. Mine does not really go for phyto alone. I feed it a mix of rotifers oyster feast and phyco pure. It dances for it when i taget feed. I am getting a shipment of fauna marin products this week to try out as well.
