Looks like the Vermatid snail won. I would remove it by breaking the tube off at the base.

Oh lord, I didn't know that Vermetid Snails could grow so large! Thanks for sharing- I currently have a mildly annoying population of Vermetid Snails in my Nano that I will be paying closer attention to from now on.

Hard to say. This monti just seems to be really "light" colored. What bulbs are you using? Also you might want to consider removing those bubble algae at some point before they become a real nuisance.
