Catbus Posted April 7, 2012 didn't know it was legal to even own those as pets lol Quote Link to comment
duoc9119 Posted April 7, 2012 I didn't think blue-rings were legal due to their venomousness, but looks pretty cool though Quote Link to comment
neuwave Posted April 8, 2012 Awesome catch. They are not illegal, just make sure it never bites you... Ever. I'm sure gena did research so not to worry. Quote Link to comment
patback Posted April 8, 2012 They had one at my lfs store for 99 bucks. Beautiful, but only ringed when upset or scared. Not to belittle gena, but I think you need to be crazy to own an animal so venomous without a known cure for the bite/ antivenom. Now THAT is True passion for the oceans. Quote Link to comment
gena Posted April 8, 2012 I don't own him. I took this picture at my LFS which IS Scales 'n Tails, dweeeezy I was shocked to see him there and had to take a photo. Didn't think I'd ever see one of these guys in person. They are absolutely stunning but I think they strictly belong in the ocean.....way too dangerous of a specimen. It was definitely a thrill to see him in person though. Quote Link to comment
duoc9119 Posted April 8, 2012 Lol thats pretty much how I feel when I go to one of the nearby LFS and they have a rhinopias in either red or yellow. They onced had both variations and I went nuts on pictures. Quote Link to comment
jestep Posted April 9, 2012 We had one of these in Austin at a good LFS. Fortunately they had substantial warning and conditions with him. I could totally see someone bringing one home from Petco Quote Link to comment
gena Posted April 15, 2012 Here's a youtube video we made of this same blue-ringed octopus. My son is narrating in the video...fake accent and all Quote Link to comment
