nor_cal_nano Posted February 11, 2012 Ouch. That's quite a shadow. Are you using par bulbs? Quote Link to comment
matt frizz Posted February 13, 2012 I cut the brace off of my 50 Breeder over a year ago to get rid of that problem. I blocked so much light from my 250W MH. Not the safest route but no problems as of yet. Quote Link to comment
joshnanoreef Posted February 13, 2012 what if you removed the brace and glued down a plexiglass strip to act as reinforcement? Quote Link to comment
halloween82 Posted February 13, 2012 ...hmmmm yeah 250watt here too, not cutting shit tho. had no problem with my t5's. going back to t5 or maybe led to eliminate the problem or 2 mh bulbs one on ea side of brace. when just the t5's are on you cant even notice. plus its kinda a joke around here so for now we keep the shadow. Dani3d Posted February 17, 2012 I have an Osaka aquarium with a glass brace...no such problem. Just glue a glass brace in there and you will have a safe tank and no shadow. Quote Link to comment
majtek862 Posted February 22, 2012 +1 I cut the brace out of my tank and replaced with plexiglass. Worked just fine! Quote Link to comment
