Your tank is very nice! What is the coral object in the upper center part of the tank (it seems to have a bubble-like tentacle)? Thanks!

That is red grape caluerpa. I was trying to grow it but my turbo snail ate it all yesterday. DOH! Now he can focus on the green stuff I guess.

What kind of substrate is that? Can you still had starfish and some sand shifters using that. I really like the black. Awesome tank.

I would not recommend a starfish in a nano just becuase of how tempermental to changes in water chemistry. But I do have sand sifters in my tank. They substrate is "Natural Wonders" black calcite sand.

Starfish are not that hard to keep in a reef tank. I've had mine for about 4 months now and is doing splendid. The black substrate is calcite and yes it can be used with sand sifters and snails etc.

WOW. Now that's got to be the cleanest reef I've ever seen. I love the black Substrate. Gives the tank great contrast. Is that a red brain? If so, It's stunning!
