saltwatercoral Posted March 6, 2011 Put a hang on UV sterilizer with a small pump in your sump! It should clear that up in a few days! Also do a manual removal of as much of the junk as you can! Keep up on your water changes as well Quote Link to comment
Loading Posted March 6, 2011 That actually looks really nice imo. Reminds me of the planted freshwater tanks but this one in salt. Quote Link to comment
AustinV90 Posted March 6, 2011 i wish my turbo didnt eat all my algae, it looks awesome imo. Quote Link to comment
Bishop Posted March 6, 2011 cant wait till my algae tank fills out. I try to keep the macro algaes as long as they are not ones that will grow over coral such as the red turf. Quote Link to comment
FishStrings Posted March 6, 2011 Looks more like chaeto and caulerpa =) Also I see a small bunch of colony dusters. Very pro disbursement. Quote Link to comment
reef-luva Posted March 6, 2011 It's looks great, what else is in there right now. No way to get it out in "a few days" except to go in and remove it by hand and then you'll ONLY get 80%,cause the other 20% is in the pores of the rocks. IMO, you'll NEVER get rid Of it 100% without, 1) changing all the rocks the different algae's are on 2) blasting your tank with chemicals 3) all of the above ...looks very cool though... keydiver Posted March 7, 2011 wow it reminds me of a mountain, that really looks cool. Quote Link to comment
streakr22 Posted March 7, 2011 I won't be removing it. I just have to remove hair algae now and then. This stuff cropped up on its own. Quote Link to comment
halloween82 Posted March 7, 2011 .. i would just keep up on it and smother it with coral instead of vice versa. It will be a good contrast of color for oranges yellow reds etc. I personally like to manage my macro i.e. keeping it in sand where its easily removed if need be. contrast is everything when it comes to color imo. pschom Posted March 8, 2011 Hey is the hard 'grass' looking stuff algae? Where does it come from? I have had this in my tank forever. I think it looks sweet. I used to have some purple stuff that was very similar but the turbos ate it all. Quote Link to comment
