pls I.D. this white "hair" looking growth

It is fragile, not very "plant" like...

The "hairs" break off when you rub them.

It has transferred to the artificial rock

in which it is resting on/against.

Any ideas?

Look really really closely and see if you can see any fans coming from the ends... I have similar stuff and they turned out to be tiny tiny fan worms.

yeah, that's a tough one. it's either pest algae or microfauna of some sort. post the pic in the reefcleaner's macro ID thread to see if John's ever seen it.
