New Eclipse 12 setup

Your going to have much better success if you rip out the biowheel if you have not done so already.

I am interested in beginning a nanoreef in an Eclipse 12, such as yours....have asked for the tank, etc for Christmas...any suggestions? Seems so many people have their own views, but I thought since you have the type of tank I will be getting, your feedback would probably be the most useful...Thanks for anything you can tell me, or send links to....Chas

The biggest problem with the eclipse is the light constraints. You are locked into the amount of tubes and wattage and of course we all know that the amount of wattage dictates the variety of livestock you can house. Effectively most end up ripping the original setup apart or re-modding the hood.

IMO, skip the headache and go with a straight open hood, or with another brand... but some do like the challenge.

for anyone that sees this you should mod it to a 96w like I did. nice setup. and I know this pic is like 2 years old
