they will. but it is not always a bad thing. you get your sand sifted, at the cost of a sandstorm every now and then. also they require the base rock to be on the glass, as to not dig under rocks and kill themselves. mas also topple coral. but they are worth. just watch a youtube vid or one and you will see why i like pistols.

get a Randalls shrimp, they are more timid and wont go to town on your sandbed and redefine everything (along with moving your corals, my tiger shrimp does that) I have a randalls paired with my YWG in my display tank
