Silvergumby Posted September 3, 2010 Looks like there might be a couple yellow polyps off to the left that survived the attack. Quote Link to comment

EchoReef Posted September 3, 2010 I had to move most of my other corals down to the sand or lower on the live rock because the xenia was smothering them. This not a full tank shot, I had bunch of LPS at the bottom. In addition to a lot of my corals, it killed a fish and a shrimp... It did look pretty cool though. Quote Link to comment
SlowGoing Posted September 3, 2010 I bought a Xenia 2 months ago and it has grown really quickly. I may be fragging it soon. Quote Link to comment
DoubleD Posted September 4, 2010 I just cut mine off and throw it away if it gets crazy. Use scissors making quick, clean cuts so theirs no pieces floating around. Quote Link to comment
EchoReef Posted September 4, 2010 Well, 1. I don't have the heart to kill corals. 2. The whole colony crashed and burned anyway. All I have left is a frag sized piece. Quote Link to comment
DoubleD Posted September 4, 2010 It's all good. I love the pic by the way. 1. It doesn't kill the coral. The "stump" left grows into a new colony, just shorter. Kind of like mowing the grass. 2. You could try again, but control it this time. Quote Link to comment
joe yazz :D Posted September 8, 2010 and then i toke out my xenia out of my tank and droped it in the snow Quote Link to comment
Dani3d Posted September 12, 2010 Must have been really nice to see all these fast pulsing xenia pulse together. When you have too much just sell some! Mine did not grow at all for 6 months and now it started to split and grow like weeds in both of my aquariums at the same time. Must be the weather??? Quote Link to comment
DoubleD Posted September 15, 2010 Actually, Xenia growing like that is a sign of high nutrients in the tank. Xenia is actually more effective at exporting nutrients and filtering then chaeto and other macros. Quote Link to comment
boltp777 Posted September 26, 2010 man i love xenia may be a weed but i love when it pulses how many other corals do that none. Quote Link to comment
