These snails are agricultural pests. In 1966 it cost over 1 million dollars and 10 years to eradicate them from the state of Florida.

My friend had a pair he was breeding; he used the offspring as food for his various reptiles. One day I was bored so I asked him for an egg (they are about the size of a tic-tac) and 2.5 years later I have Speedy! His breeding pair have since been destroyed and so have all the remaining babies.

I didn't noticed you were in canada, i dont know there but you might be right a winter in the wild and you end up with snail popsicles.
