Yes, I will like to make everyone aware before rude comments come in, that the Blue Hippo Tang should not be in this tank-- yes, It perhaps is overstocked, I don't care. However, he says he's quite happy and says if you guys give me a hard time & try to talk me into taking him out, or call the tang police on me, he says F- you all! =)

GiantBen, as I mentioned in my description, everything is stock. I have not modded anything. So I am using the bioballs and active carbon filter from Oceanic. I only added a powerhead for more water flow.

I think someone did a study on how many miles a tang normally swims per day, and it was a pretty astounding number. It's a foolish thing to keep a fish like that in a tank so small. There are so many other livestock options. I don't understand why you wouldn't pick a different fish that would be comfortable in there.

Just a word to the wise also, if you're going to start posting on this site, get used to people who know more about reefing giving you advice that sometimes you might not like. :)

1337TANKHAX,I appreciate how you phrased all of that. I will seriously consider other options and find a him more real estate soon. At the moment he is small, fine and happy...Also eating like pig and all the fish get along very well. What other type of reef friendly livestock would you recommend?

i read some where that margarita snails are cold water snails can any one confirm this? (it would explain why they never last to long)

I'm not sure mine is actually a Margartita Snail, it looks like a margarita snail It was attached to a coral that I bought. I'm glad it came with my coral because its a pig!

You're fish talk to you? You need to make some changes if you want this to last a year or more.

Really? Thats a very general statement. Let me try making the same type of statement. "I think a car won't go very far if it doesn't have a serious amount of gas". Are you serious PoopCola?

Having more gas has nothing to do with wc.

This tank will crash before 1 year for sure unless you get ur act together and follow some real advice.

BTW- nice to know all the fish are happy... you have magical powers i believe.

For great livestock recommendations go to the beginner's discussion forum and checkout Igreen's ultimate guide to nano-fish. It is invaluable!

dont worry kietn23... i heard it a lot for my "overstocked" 24 gallon... its really easy to shut people up... save your money for a year and buy a 90 gallon off craigs list, transfer everything over, and then laugh at everyone who criticized you for you 14 gallon cuz all your fish are alive and kicking in their new mansion... thats what i did at least (and i had both a blue tang and a yellow tang in my 24 gallon for 6 months)

Crash? Is this a computer forum? Do I need to call tech support somewhere in india to save my tank? You guys are ridiculous! As I stated in my first comment, I'm aware putting a tang isn't the way to go for the long run in a 14 gallon, but he's small and happy for the interim moment and gets along so well with the other livestock. Did you guys read that last part? I said, 'Interim"! In other words, temporary. Additionally, my levels in my tank are stellar!
