RIP Pair of Stongobiops yasha and Aplheus Randalli

My old pair of yashas and their pistol side kick, male passed away in early 2008 and female in mid-late 2008 pistol just dissapeared one day. pair was together for nearly three years and with a pistol for 2 1/2.

Yeah, I entered this photo into a different photo contest last year, and I had one of the hovering above an acan and entered that into the LPS photo contest.

For anyone that wants to know,i didn't buy them as a pair, I got the male for $45, then about a month later found the female for $40 and at the time that LFS had two pairs and the lone female. The pistol took alot of searching to find, finally had to begg to take it away from a barber pole goby it was paired with, had to pay for the goby too but I didn't care.

I was wondering how you determine the sex of the Stongobiops. I recently lost one of my pair and want to get my remaining yasha a new mate.

males have a dark spot on their joined fins under their chin, mine lost his cause he was in captivity so long and it'll fade over time.
