What lens are you using for this?

The one that came with the kit, Nikon 18-135mm. I'm planning to get a macro 60mm but that's about $400, so I'll have to wait a bit. Still learning how to use best manual settings. Any recommendations?

Well I couldn't help you much with Nikon as I'm pretty much strictly Canon in SLR.. though, a good quality prime lens although expensive now will pay you back in the long run. Look for image stabilisation if you can find it, I know with the Canon ones you can get around 5 or so stops of leeway so I'd expect the Nikkor ones to be similar.

Remember - less elements means better image quality.
