You could always keep it and see how big it will get... but I admit killing it would be best

whatever you do dont cut it or poke it in the tank. it will be the begining of the end. there is a new product aptasia x by red see. invest its only like 15 bucks

lemon juice doesnt work and if you puncture it it will release spores and there will be more. you need to bind the oral disk. like joes juice or aptasia x. the later does a better job. i love reef tank wives tales and home remedies lol

I like to see how much they can grow before I kill 'em. The bigger they are, the more fun they are to kill.

I had one of these that was huge when I first got my LR.. let it grow, the stalk of it got to nearly as fat as a cigar.. used to pull bits of BS out of the water at random. Nice to watch, but a pain in the ass to get rid of.

I thought I had 3 of them in my new 10g but its still cycling so since there wasn't anything else in the tank I was just gonna ignore it, but when I moved a few rocks around I saw them everywhere. Everything I've read says a couple won't hurt anything and a good CUC will take care of it, but I'm infested now. Kill them now with a treatment or at the very least don't disturb them at all. These guys are bad news. I shoulda killed mine the second I saw the first one.

If it's on a small piece of rock with no other corals on it, I would pull the whole piece of rock out and let it dry. Reintroduce and keep an eye on it. essentially you would turn it in to base rock, but that’s better the watching a million of those thing pop up and have to nuke all your rock.

Good luck

I have had an eventual 100% kill rate (although some aiptasia require multiple attempts) by "feeding" the aptasia a kalkwasser slurrey. I don't know why more people don't use this method, just gently feed the aiptasia the slurey with the pumps off. Don't poke at it, causing it to retract into the rock.

Sell it on Ebay! Lol! (falls to ground*holds in intestines) If you let the aip go for to long you'll have 50 or 100 seriously. Its about time to glue that bad boy get some Loctite superglue Gel, the Gel its thicker and make sure to cover the ENTIRE thing not even a tentacle can be out and it will die inside the glue.

Feeding the little buggers kalkwasser with an eyedropper worked for me also. They actually showed a feeding response by closing up on the kalk and dragging it inside when they closed. Kills them every time and costs next to nothing
