It really is when it decides to open up, yeah. My system has been a little bit unstable lately thanks to major ambient temperature jumps (I haven't had the cash to buy a chiller yet... :X) so this little fella has been a little temperamental and closing up sometimes. Opens back up again fairly quickly though.

are they hard to keep?

Not really at all. If you're lucky and get a hardy one (from the Great Barrier Reef or the outlying reefs of Western Australia usually) they're pretty simple if you provide them with a reasonable amount of flow and good lighting. I guess the most important part is to give them plenty of room and make sure they're away from others that are likely to sting, or indeed, be stung.
