Added an airstone, removed it's airline setup and turned the strainer assembly towards the side. No microbubbles in the tank! :)

Well it's hardly a fuge granted that... I just removed the filter media - inserted some spagetti algae, liverock (not seen in this picture) in that area instead. At night if I shine a flashlight into the filter I can see tons of them... so it's working! I also recently added a light for the algae.

I did the same with my Skilter (the airstone) and i too found there to be fewer microbubles in the tank.
