It is a drill bit for Rock, mostly limestone in quarries, drill the hole and shove ammonium nitrate down inside, boom! There is a shank that I torched off and welded on a 2" square to fit inside the tailgate bracket.

 

Yep, carbide tipped, those are painted black for show, we sell the bit all yellow. Carbide goes in quite a ways into the bit. This is a really expensive tailgate show hitch! But the shank on the bit was damaged in shipment and I couldn't sell it.

Rock drill bits are the ugliest looking things. They remind of the squidies or whatever from the Matrix. Ew.

Well actually, I am from Wisconsin, but have live in IL for two years now. This is my company truck, yet my personal SUV does have WI plates on it still. The truck is registered in Wisconsin at one of our branches in Milwaukee, good catch, i was wondering when someone would bring that up!
