I am still going to add one more piece of LR to hide the circulation pump and will continue to add some additional coral frags over time.

Wow. Those clowns look great. I think you should add an anemone. Maybe a yellow tang? Anyone else?

just because "they look nice in there" doesn't mean that they SHOULD be in there!

Puh-leeeaze! Clowns use about 4" to swim around. ain't nothing wrong with keeping them in a Pico. You go!

In response to the ludicrous statement that "clowns use about 4" to swim around"

Ever hear of a little thing called sustainable bio-load? That level of volume isn't adequate to sustain the level of water quality necessary to sustain one clown, much less two. Even if he starves them, the water quality will rapidly decline. And as far as space necessary, clowns will utilize as much space as you can give them. I have 8 clowns in 4 separate tanks of varying sizes, and they all explore every inch of available space.

He has an overflow, and a sump. My clown never leaves it's spot in my 15 gallon.

Even if i had a 120g sump for my 20L tank doesnt mean i can keep a tang. +1 my clowns also swim from one side to the other.

you should mabey just put some little clown fish instead of those adults tank look nice tho.

I totally see them jumping out within a month. Mnnn sweet suicide (same thing we would do if we had to live in a 6ft by 5 ft room for the rest of our lives).

wow... ignorance. Please review the nitrogen cycle. Water changes are meant to help stabalize your water params by reducing the amounts of excess nutrients in your water. In a closed system no matter the bio-load (unless by some act of pure luck/ or knowledge you have created the perfect eco-system) you need to do water changes to balance out your params. There is a point where your bio-load exceeds your capacity. Perfect example is the goldfish and the bowl. It reduces the life expectancy of the goldfish by 10 years.

NOT ignorance....you are using ridiculous assumptions. the reality is that ALL the fish in aquariums are likely to live shorter in captivity than in nature -- assuming they aren't consumed by predators in nature. Attacking someone for having less than you 'ideal' definition of 'perfect' is ridiculous -- stating that a 3 g is so 'awful' compared to a 20 or 30 gallon is moronic -- when you compare a 30 g to the ocean......

If you don't want a clown in a pico then don't put a clown in your pico....

I wasn't talking about nature vs. captivity. Just bio-load, capacity, and how water changes are not a means to exceed your capacity. You proved my point when you said "If you don't want a clown in a pico then don't put a clown in your pico...." It's not about want. It's about what is better for the animal in your care.

Sigh, those clowns will never live a *happy* life....

Ignorance is bliss i suppose....

Fish have to swim in their own waste right? I don't know about you, but if I were forced to go swimming in my own waste I would feel more comfortable peeing in a swimming pool than a bathtub. I think this is what theimpulsive1 is trying to say.
