121a Posted October 14, 2007 looks great but i must agree that it does not look like a 120g and looks much smaller. Quote Link to comment
Izzue Posted October 14, 2007 Those are some nice sized specimens...Add a background. helps show the depth 0.02 Quote Link to comment

willyboy Posted October 14, 2007 I don't see any filtration, correct? Tank looks great! And I think I've seen this tank before in a video perhaps... Quote Link to comment
Fishlips Posted October 14, 2007 Thanks for the nice comments guys. This is a 5 foot tank. Your looking at a 14" Cap. Practically fragged it in 1/2 last year. Perhaps the angle is making the tank look small, my wife doesn't think it is There is no filtration, sump, or skimmer, been running tanks like this for years. Choadmeyer, 2X 250W metal halides. 20000K XMs, gonna try 15000Ks this week. Willy, The only plumbing is for a chiller behind the wall in the garage. There was a video of my 72G on "reef videos" taken a couple years ago, all the corals were moved from it. As for a background I planning on just letting zoos or anthelia grow up the back. I had a whole side covered in my previous tank. Any recomendations for another coral to cover the back wall? Quote Link to comment
proraptor2 Posted October 15, 2007 15K XM's are by far the worst bulb on the market....dont waste your money as the 20K XM's have more PAR....If you want a nice 14K bulb get a phoenix Quote Link to comment
DKreefkeepers Posted October 16, 2007 wow, no filtration external filtration huh.... looks amazing. Quote Link to comment
nlucianos Posted October 16, 2007 you could grow xenia on the back wall, it would look great with a coraline backdrop Quote Link to comment
Fishlips Posted October 17, 2007 I haven't been able to keep xenia for years (used to be a weed)? In my last tank I had anthelia (looks like xenia) covering an entire wall. It's not as aggressive as xenia (which practically jumped from rock to rock) but still spreads quickly. Looking at my tank today, i actually have some growing up the back unintentionally As for GSP, I think the color might be a bit overwhelming but I might give it a try. Quote Link to comment
