Just wondering how that macro was doing for you? I used to have some and it went crazy over taking corals, and every little piece that came off attached somewhere and began to grow out of control.

That is awesome!!! Please PM me if you decide to get rid of some of it!

Unfortunately this stuff is like most caulerpa and will grow out of control and goes sexual so keep on top of that pruning.

I was toild it should not. Looks like its a Ochtodes species.

Well as long as you keep on top of the pruning it should not go sexual. But yeah I had this species a while ago. It comes from the Caribbean. It is pretty common on the east coast for some reason or at least it was about 2 years ago. I got some because it is so attractive. It pretty much took over my tank. I had to prune daily.

huh well I Will watch it. It does grow fast but not taking over really. I heard the same as for pruning it often to pervent a crash. I love the stuff really so I will do what it takes to keep it. Thanks again Devil :)

Its not growing out but getting more dense. I dont care how much of a PITA it is I love this stuff.

careful, on little piece will become a whole new colony in less than a month (you don't want it to land on a coral colony either because it will take hold and eventually shade it), also if you let it get TOO dense it will trap food and later become medium for less atrcative algaes... i started with a tiny branch on a zooanthid colony, now the zooas are eclipsed.
