what makes them "onyx"

Well if genetics work they will turn almost completely black with just a little orange around the face belly and dorsal fin.

Nice colors and healthy looking too.

I would say they are very healthy and eating well. The female is hosting the frogspawn during the day and lets the male sleep there at night.

True percs are worth the extra $$$
