Newbie

I'm a newbie to the hobby and love it. It's been frustrating and fun at the same time. I lost this anenome because my ph was slightly low. My local guy told me how much buffer to add, and so I did. Hell, what do I know. Needless to say I woke up the next morning to a polluted tank. I was told to put a cap full of ph buffer in to bring my ph up. Well a cap full is good for 40 gallons. My system is only 10 gallons. So go figure. That thing was bitchin. Any help would be appreciated.
