13angels Posted January 17, 2007 nice... although do you need a refuge for a nano? Quote Link to comment
m1enbo1 Posted January 17, 2007 i guess you dont really need a refuge for a nano but i didnt want the protein skimmer and heater in the main tank so i decided to get one Quote Link to comment
Kogut Posted January 17, 2007 Looks damn fine for a simple DIY. My only issue would be that you're using a Seaclone skimmer. Upgrade when you can, and you'll wonder how you survived the Seaclone days. I know I did. Quote Link to comment
civicsit Posted January 17, 2007 actually a fuge is really good for a nano since it gives a good place for things like pods to grow in where there are no predetors. Also it is a good place to put cheato. Quote Link to comment
m1enbo1 Posted January 17, 2007 thanks kogut. im thinking about upgrading it but for now i cant due to my low budget =/ and yea im thinking about chaeto in there. caulpera arent good for the fuge are they? ive read that they grow like weed and need lots of pruning.. hmmmm Quote Link to comment

yardboy Posted January 17, 2007 You may have seen my refugium/sump. I see you have a skimmer compartment also. Cool. Check the light, that's pretty cheap to get a Lowe's or HD, ~$30. Quote Link to comment
m1enbo1 Posted January 18, 2007 i live in northern CA. and thanks for the offer. i like the refuge yardboy. is it keeping the nitrates level down? mines are creeping up to about 10 ppm now and im doing some water changes to bring it down Quote Link to comment
