MAX THE REEF AQUARIUM FISH LOVER

i believe the bio-load is too much. dont rush to get fish. i had about 19 fish in my 29 gallon and it was a total mess-up tank. anyways nice anemones and corals, i would think of removing a damsel fish if i were you

Thanks everyone for your comments! Between,do agree with you about the fishes..I'm beginning to think how to take out a damsel or two from the tank :)I've stopped getting fishes and now will only concentrate on maintaining and growing the live corals and reefs.Stay tune for more updated pics as I've just added a small leather coral and a staghorn coral...

Hi there..

My Gonipora's doing fine since I bought it from day one..[count myself a lucky beginner? :) ] I feed the corals twice a week with coral food(liquidfied) besides adding magnesium and coral trace elements once a week.Besides that,I have a protein skimmer on the right rear and also a small internal filter pump to simulate the currents.

Hi tank looks fantastic!! How long did you run it for before you put corals and fish in.How many fish are you allowed for your size tank, thanks sue

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your comments and rating :) Initially it was left running for 3 weeks before I added some live rocks.I was told to ONLY introduce fishes and corals after a month or so but my curiosity and temptation led me to introduce them earlier in my tank! :) But of course I only put in those easy to maintain fishes like humbug damsels and corals like the mushroom polyps which they say are much easier for beginners.

Luck was on my side and so far till now nothing has happened. They are all flourishing well.In fact I've just bought some additional corals (tridacna gigas, staghorn coral and a small leather coral) and all are doing well :)

As for the fishes,I think it's a overcrowding according to some hobbyists but I do agree with them as I have other live invertebrates which might controbute tp the bio load.I think on the safe side 2-3 fishes are acceptable for my size of tank which is approximately around 8 Gal
