the iridescence of the coral makes me think it might be a little bleached

It probably was a little bit (bleached). It came from a tank with MH and under my PCs it turned a darker green all around. Now I have it under MH again and it is lightening up; it is now closest to the color at the bottom of this pic and the lighter yellow at the top has changed to the darker green at the bottom. It is still a nice piece imo.

i dont think it's bleached, but i do think the white balance on the camera is waaay off.

Yeah the camea is a dinky P&S. Tried changing the few white balance settings it has and it makes little to no difference. Oh well I'm looking into getting a DSLR by the end of the year so after I learn how to use the new camera, I'm hoping to greatly improve my photo taking skills.
