I love those kinds of hermits! That was how I got into the hobby- when I found one in a shell someone brought me from FL. Just be warned that they can grow to be HUGE!

What kind of hermits are those? I have one, that we call the mutant, since he's SO much bigger than our other hermits....we have right legs which stay small, and he just kept growing and growing....

The scientific name is Clibanarius Vittatus, or the common name is Thinstripe Hermit. I reluctantly had to give mine away- I'd had him for 5 years and he was in a shell 8 inches wide, mowing over and destroying all my corals (he didn't eat any of them, he just irritated and destroyed them by climbing over them). I still loved him/her though.

Really I thought they were Clibanarius Vittatus... I guess I got it wrong. Thanks! Some new to research. :-D
