Not sure if this stuff will grow or even if I will want it. The tank is on day 3 now and so it has a ways to go!

I have that too. I have been waiting for it to do something exciting but it just keep growing straight out from the rock. I have a few that are 1.5 inches long, I think it's time to yank them out!

watch out for that stuff! It spreads quickly in water with high phosphate and silicates. If you are not using quality RO water and phosphate controller, picking at it will only make it spread. If you do decide to remove from the rock, you'll need to do so at the base and scrape with a razor blade. Even leaving a small piece will make it grow back.

I have this stuff too, but something in my tank appears to be eating it. Not sure what yet, but sections of it have been disappearing ever since I added a blood shrimp, emerald crab, and some blue leg hermits. I suspect the crab.

Hey, why would you want to get rid of it? I have it in my tank and it has remained in one patch since I started the tank in January. I think its neat looking, adds bright green colour to the tank, eats nitrates, and everyone keeps asking about it. Look at my gallery :) I don't have anything negative to say about it.

I dont have it myself but I saw another tank with it all over and loved it. He (the owner) said it wasn't a pest and all, and it was a really nice green color. I wish I had some myself.
