Pipefish I caught in Tampa bay (there are zillions out there). He's been happy in my refugium for 6 months.

What size is your refugium? He looks like he is probably a dragon pipefish of some sort. He probably loves it in the refugiums because there is all sorts of live food! Great picture and lovely fish.

My refugium is a 15 gallon tall with some live rock and mostly chaeto.

 

Yep, he's about 3" long. They get maybe 6" long as adults in the bay. I go out in the sea grass beds with a screen net and there are handfulls of them, cerith snails, and hermits.... Tampa bay is great fuge country ;-)
