Lookin' good... what powerhead do they put in that tank? Is it a Rio?

Rio 600. Its doing good so far, quiet and providing just about the right waterflow for the shrooms and hammer. So far its all stock.

I would liek to add som xenia at the top but Im afraid when the hammer grows out it will bother the xenia. Does anyone have any suggestions for other corals?

How do you plan on keeping it cool during the hot summer months? I am asking this because I was thinking about getting one.

It pretty much just stays just above room temp at 72-74. The way the tank comes stock keeps it right at 1 or 2 degrees above room temp with the light on roughly 10 hrs. Its a good setup for someone who doesnt want to deal with alot of plumbing, but it is expensive for a 3gallon.

So you don't have a heater in it?

no, it doesnt need one, and there really isnt much room for one if it did.

The only additional thing I add to it is Purigen

So I guess the heat generated from the powerhead keeps the temp steady.

^That and the lights should as well. My guess is he gets a little temp drop at night when the lights go out but nothing to drastic.

I think the xenia's would be ok at the top for a while but if you are worried about the hammers catchin' up with them maybe an anthelia that stays shorter would work. Just added some zoanthids at the top and some small ricordias yesterday, will post pics soon
