Formerly MikeR. Posted February 16, 2006 Thanks got them from Live Aquaria $149 (pair) but dont think they were a mated pair, just a huge female and a smaller one..but they get along quite nicely now.....may also try rods-reef.com he has some beautiful fish, found his site after i ordered mine.....his are tank bred and raised..mine are WC..will update and let ya know how they are doing...They consider them to be ONYX clowns...some debate about this...but i think any true perc with all white stripes connected by black could be considered ONYX.... Cesar Posted February 16, 2006 Fish looks cool, but I dont think it's an Onyx. Onyx are more on a darker red color, like an Ocellaris color. This one is more Orange like a True Perc. But cool looking for sure. Quote Link to comment
bowfront26 Posted February 16, 2006 those are definately onyx clowns. I was thinking about orderin them. how big are they? they will darken up with time. Quote Link to comment
Cesar Posted February 16, 2006 ^^^Oh they will darken up? Well that's cool. They are awesome fish. Quote Link to comment
knosch09 Posted February 16, 2006 The debate on onyx percs could last forever. My understanding from all the posts on RC is that those are indeed onyx percs, but they just barely make the cut. Nice fish! I want them! Quote Link to comment
NanoGal13 Posted February 16, 2006 definatly onyx percs, as said, just above the cut, they shold in theory darken up a bit, they will look much more onyxy as they get old4er Quote Link to comment
Formerly MikeR. Posted February 17, 2006 Thanks all for the replies, yes i expected them tohave a littlemore black myself,i think the male will darken up more,no sure about the female as she is quite large already about 3" i would guess....yes the debate about onyx will continue....But as i understand it all three white bars must touch with black, so these would qualify...rod-reef does have some beautiful looking fish...unfortunately i found his site after i ordered mine...but i am happy with mine...Hopefully the will be a breeding pair, time will tell....
