tinyreef Posted January 23, 2006 you're right, the heat is retained to a significant extent actually. for instance, it still reaches 83F~84F during the day even with the fan on and the room temp at 68F (and it's still winter, d'oh!). it's one of the reasons i don't see me running this setup in the summer or without a small air conditioner aimed at it during the day. the canopy's in-place to allow sunlight in and limit the evaporation (still lose about 2-oz./day though). otoh, the condensation's a benefit though. it continually cleans the canopy (preventing salt creep buildup) by its constant beading/dripping down. thanks!
