What pray tell is wrong with my coral placement?

i think that sponge is trying to say that porites shouldn't be directly next to zoanthids. porite growth may be inhibited by the zoanthid's chemical defense.

Yeah, I know, I was being sarcastic. Actually though, I did watch the two corals very closely when I first put them there and they seem to be doing fine. Even with them touching each other they haven't stung one another and they are both growing well. These zoanthids seem to be very peaceful. :-)

good to know for my eventual porite placement. i dont think they'll actually sting. just overall reduce growth.

yeah, maybe, but I think that the key to preventing chemical warfare is to provide strong water movement and also use activated carbon.
