Baby Orange Ricordia

This one fell off a Ricordia rock at the LFS so I paid $5 for it. I attached it to a new rock when I got it home. It's only about the size of a dime. Hopefully it will grow and prosper given some time!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the nice compliments. I don't have much in my tank yet, but I love what I have so far...

C'est ma, I actually super glued it on a residual part left from where it was attached to it's original rock (did not glue the 'fleshy' part of the ric). It has held for about 3 weeks now so I am hoping that the foot of the ric will expand to attach more naturally over a larger surface area on my rock.

How on earth did you get lucky enough to find one that fell off with some rock still attached? (Rhetorical question from someone who can't get a certain bare shroom to attach anyplace I want it to...)

It was not attached. It was loose and I glued it on myself from where it used to attach to it's previous rock. I always look for loose pieces of just about anything (shrooms, zoos, rics) in the LFS and sometimes I get lucky. Because my tank is so small, I can not justify getting big pieces of anything and I find LFS's do not cater to Nanotanks. I have to do my own attaching at home but it is worth it.

I agree with your lfs hunting strategy--that's the fun way to do it! But I guess I didn't understand your first response. You mean that the underside of the ric has a less fleshy part that sticks to glue better? Do you use the outside-of-the-water method and blot things with a towel first? Sorry to be so inquisitive--I've just been so spectacularly unsuccessful... :)

Ces't ma. I think I understand the confusion...I will try and explain better! The underside of the ric had no rock but rather a brown 'residue' (left over from the rock it used to be on) on the 'foot' that enabled adhesion. There was no 'slime' on that part. I took the ric out of water, blotted it and then the rock to dry things a little, and then superglued it. I was lucky that I had some place to give some adhesion on the ric. By now, I assume that the foot has expanded to supply some natural adhesion as well.
