nanoworld - I got it in L.A for $168. It's very common now. Almost all the stores can order them for you. When I got it, there only a few stores carried it.

you did a really good job with your tank, I just bought a via aqua 18 gallon and wanted to know what are you running on the back of your tank. Also are the lights you have the ones that came with the tank or are they modified.

I've been running a Prizm skimmer and a HOB millennium 2000 filter. The light is stock (2x36W - 1x12,000K and 1x7100K)

I just ordered the 21 Gal Aqua Via tank for my husbands Birthday. And it will be our first Salt Water tank. Is it hard to maintain them? I'm not even sure I got a good price. ($239) I liked the look of the 10 gal and the owner of the shop said it's easier to maintain a larger tank. Should I put live plants in right away or wait? Your tank is beautiful. I hope ours turns out that way.

Hello Tami,

Are you going to have a planted tank or a nano reef? if you get your 21gal with marine setup then it's about right. If your tank is a fresh water setup then it's a bit expensive. It's all about the light that is more expensive for a marine tank vs fresh water tank.

This is a really cool tank ! Excellent aquascape and very colorful. I'm setting up the same tank with the stock lighting for now. I have a 150 MH pendant available - debating on replacing the stock light.

Anyway - this tank has really been an inspiration. Good job and congrats on Tank of the Month.

Ilamaboy - The tank comes with 2x36W PC. One actinc (12,000K) one daylight (7100K).

Should I stay with the stock lighting it comes with or should I get new bulbs? How offten should I replace them? Don't they lose there power? I am in the process of adding a 10g fum underneath any ideas?

scolex - I am not sure. It all depends on what are you keeping in the tank. The stock bulbs are sufficient (if you get the marine setup). You need to replace the bulbs every 10-12 months. "Fum"? you meant refugium? I have no idea about refugium. I never setup one.

Kelpie - Check http://www.aquaticwarehouse.com/site/index.cfm. Call them or something. I know they have this style in 11gal, 18gal, 21gal and 30gal.

Sloneb - I use 1 powerhead (Maxi-jet 600) placing on the top right corner blowing across the tank. I also have a HOB filter that create down flow.

I have the 10 gallon Via Aqua, mine is over 2 years old now but I am thinking about removing the CPR back pak skimmer I have on the back as I think it is just a dirt magnet. By the end of the week my tank looks like it really needs a water change. Do you use a skimmer?

Looks really nice. Also nice selection of Zoos! I just set up the 28 gallon. I liked curved glass. I tossed the lighting and filtration and went with PC's and a wet/dry.

dude your tank is flipping awesome!!!!!!!!!!! would you recommend a skimmer? I currently don't have one right now. Also how about a sump? I have a 20 gallon. Cleanup crew?

The tank was 1 year old at the time this picture was taken. The zoos were growing from frags of 5-15 polyps. Skimmer I used was Red Sea prizm with surface skimming device. The tank itself was sold a year ago to Uchiha when I moved to the new place. I moved most of my stuff over to my 150gal tank now. Live Rock was about 10-15 pounds. Lighting were 2x32Wattx PC.

Sun coral was fed 2 times per week with fine cut squid.

Sorry for the late respond. I havent checked this website for year. If you have any question, let me know. By the way, this tank was also TOTM on April, 2004. I am not sure where they put the TOTM section now. I have details about the setup in there.
