Yeah saltwater. I think one of my snails made its way from the leaves downstairs to the lobby. The hermit crabs didn't have the proper grip to follow.

What are we looking at? The effects of natural lighting on algae?

Pretty much. That took only two weeks to happen.

Perhaps some supplemented lighting would have helped... maybe some pc actinics? i'm sure your idea could work but it takes trial and error. It's an interesting idea... maybe you could pinpoint/intensify the sunlight you're getting into your tank. I mean the sun can light the ocean why not your tank? That's somthing interesting to work with. I like the idea.
