My bryopsis won he fight, so all the rock and coral came out and was scrubbed using a toothbrush. This was my first SW tank so hopefully with my increased knowledge the algae won't get out of hand!

There is a very jealous one sitting here. One question does the leather harm the LPS corals in any way. I haven't a leather yet because I read some can emit toxic chemicals.

Thanks ShoNuff and fishybusiness. I haven't had any problems with the kenya tree stinging any lps. I left some room between it and any lps but nothing so far. That's the first I've heard about it being toxic, I just fragged it last week and they do emit a film for about a minute but I don't believe it's toxic. Only coral in the tank that I've seen stinging anything is my frogspawn which is slowly outgrowing the tank.

Very nice tank! I have an NC 12G dlx too and also have major issues with algae in this tank. How are you combatting the algae?

What kind of algea ecotoxlady? Only kinds that I've had are Bryopsis mainly, some green hair in the high light areas, and a little cyano in the beginning but I used SlimeAway and 2 days later it was gone and hasn't come back in the slightst. The Bryopsis is an aweful algae that nobody has a definate answer of what makes the algea grow, PO4 can be 0 and this still somehow grows. Finally I pulled every rock and coral out and scrubbed, pic is after 3 days of everything back in. I've had good luck with Emerald Crabs although many will say NO, and I have a lettuce nudi coming tomorrow to help with the rest of the bryopsis intertwined in the corals. Ultimately, watch the amount your feeding and do weekly water changes 10% +. I'm also running a Refugium in the first compartment, with UV light, and an AquaC Remora at night.
