check out www.garf.org. they claim these are pests, eating certain types of coral. I get rid of them just in case

Asterinas are generally considered OK. I have a bunch in my tank and they go around eating algae. Never touched the corals.

These starfish are awesome for the tank. They eat algae. I have about 6 in my 10g and they have never done anything bad to my corals. However, mine are white and cream color but they look the exact same otherwise.

Algea eaters. i would think. But i assume they do graze on the rocks for other little critters like baby clams & such but hey i really dont know.
