lgreen
Thanks kismetsh! Update: I am going to experiment with a few "coral enhancement" products and see what effect they have on coral growth and the overall health of the tank. To date I have not been feeding the tank anything except occasionally adding a few ml of Seachem Reefplus. Products: -Kent Marine Coral-Accel -Two Little Fish's Marine Snow -Red Sea Coral Grow -Warner Research Reef Pure Vitamin/HUFA Supplement Basically I see things here kind of the same with regards to feeding fish. The more variety the better. Mix it up. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I am especially interested to see how "coral gro" and "coral accel" perform. Link to comment

lgreen
Thanks Quick crappy FTS for the march FTS. Edit: See New FTS BELOW (posted 11:49 Mountain Time). I'll post a better one for the finally. A few of the corals are ticked because I cleaned the front of the glass. I'll post another one tomorrow with them happy again. Even from this pic you can see I have had a sudden explosion of coraline algae growth. I added like 2 doses of B ionic and this seems to be the effect on my system. 2 major observations so far with feeding marine snow, coral accell, and red sea coral growth. Corals look a little happier (fuller) and the green algae film on the glass was a little thicker this week. Understandable though. I need to get in here and frag stuff bad. Things are touching that shouldn't be. ha ha. Also, my pulsing xenia is a little shrunk and off to the side. It decided to jump into the galaxia coral and lets just say the galaxia gave it a good butt whoopin. Didn't kill it though, seems to be recovering. Off to the side now because it is just to big to be up top where it was. I need to frag it too. Link to comment
lgreen
New FTS with less than 10 minutes remaining! Barnacle still alive!! Link to comment
lgreen
End of Contest Summary It has been 6 months already? Wow. The original idea behind this tank was to have a very simple and easy to maintain nano reef. I really had no idea how this tank would turn out, but I am left in aw everyday by the beauty and health of the organisms with in given such a simple system. This tank has been a great learning experience for me, confirming that you really can do a lot with little, and I hope has been a great inspiration and tool for others wanting the same simplicity out of their nano reefing experiences. This contest was a lot of fun. Plans for after the constest: Out of all the tanks I have had so far this is by far my favorite, so OF COUSE I plan on keeping it!! I will be replacing the heater (suction cups are toast, wont stick to glass), possibly upgrading the lighting, and going to do some re-aquascaping and major trimming so I can finally start adding corals again.
