Temprature fluctuating???

Recommended Posts

I have a 20g and the temp durring the day stays around 80-81,  now, when I wake up in the morning and check it out it around 76-78degrees.  Is thi drop and rise of temp okay for the tank?  As of now, I just have 45lbs of LR in the tank...  Will it effect any growth of critters?  Thanks in advance.

The drop is just slightly too much to not be stressful.  It sounds to me like you need a heater for the night time hours.  Try a 100w Ebo Jager, that will be accurate enough to work in the night.

I agree. Sounds like your heater can't keep up. Rule of thumb (I've read) is 5 watts per gallon for your heater.
