TiGs
Hey all, I got some live rock and a bunch of these tentacles are spread out in spots on the rock. They are about 2 inches in length and wiggle around, movement isn't caused by the current. They seem visible during all hours of the day. Any idea of what they might be? Link to comment
Satchmo
Looks like spaghetti worms. Link to comment
technoshaman
Yep I agree with Satchmo, look like spaghetti worms. Very beneficial I'd let em bee. I also have tons of mini brittle star's that have stringy arms and black and white stripes. They hang in crevices in my LR - if you get them you'll know they spread everywhere but again beneficial critters. Link to comment
TiGs
Awsome! I did a search for spaghetti worms and they seem to be common. Thanks Link to comment
Satchmo
Glad we could help. Techno, have you ever seen those little stars come out? I have them too, but they never come out of the rock, even at night. Link to comment
technoshaman
Satchmo - nope, never seen em leave the rock but they are spreading over tank somehow. I got them on a mushroom rock about 4 months ago and they have moved all over tank from about 3 or 4 originally to maybe 30 or 40 now. I was tempted to take a small piece of rock and crack it open just to see what they look like I'm hella curious. Link to comment
Satchmo
Same here. I have a pretty good idea what they look like, but I want to see them just because I can't. Like boobs. Link to comment
TiGs
I was informed by someone else that these worms are not spaghetti worms but are Cirratulid Worm which are mistaken to be spagehtti worms. I looked up and found this article on the two worms http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-06/rs/ Link to comment
