scarf_ace1981
i use roti-feast. not frozen but refrigerated. i once heard you have to filter your rotifers because the water has tons of ammonia. i'm not sure if this is true or not. Link to comment
Izzue
tKS ACE... I wish LFS had Roti-fest ...but they only have the frozen rotifers anyone else?? Izzue Link to comment
Mr. Fosi
Probably fine, but scarf is right to recommend live and refrigerated over frozen. I'm not sure how you would filter them, since they are so small, but I wouldn't want to put the frozen water that encase them in my tank (may add unnecessary nutrients for algae). Link to comment
firefishbrain
on an unrelated topic, how could you farm your own? sorry to kinda hijack this thread... Link to comment
Mr. Fosi
Get some live ones and culture them in the same bottle as phytoplankton. Link to comment
Izzue
Tks Mr Fosi.. Firebrain...check out www.Phyto-Feast.com ...they have the food and all for rotifers also www.Rotifer.com Izzue Link to comment
non-photosynt
I had read that rotifers have low nutritional value - is it true? Link to comment
Mr. Fosi
I am not sure why they would be. They eat phytoplankton, which is considered to be a good food source for inverts that like it. Link to comment
