Mantis Shrimp

When I split my mushroom rock I found what looked like a rolypoly in a tunnel. I think its a mantis shrimp though he is still small. Will he be ok in my display tank or will he cause problems?

They should be in a tank alone. I have read that they can even crack the glass in a tank. I would be careful if i were you.

only the big ones break glass (6" peacocks)

 

if he's as small as a "rolly poly", you should be ok for a while.

ok, should i take him into the lfs as a trade for a zoa or will he stick to the same rock?

i know you dont have the money to have another small acrylic tank so you cant do that so id try to trade it for some corals first then give to lfs if not successfull

What makes you think it's a mantis?

i dont know of anything else that looks like that. there were various tunnels through the liverock and before i saw what looked like a rolled up mantis, i saw the head of some kind of crab like thing. i dont have any pics though.
