S.I.C.
Detritus is building up and the snails and crabs I have do around it. Yes, I can brush it off the rocks, siphon it from the gravel, etc..... My snails are always on the glass not the rock. Is there a lazy mans approach to reduce the amount in the tank? Maybe something that actually eats the stuff. Reefin' Link to comment
clifford513
Nothing I have found cleans it up. I usually just run a filter with floss for a few days and keep it stirred up with a turkey baster until the majority is removed. I am contemplating running floss 24/7 depending on the input in this thread. Link to comment

annamarie421
I've had much less detritus build up since seeding my sand with good live sand (full of worms & critters), and increasing the flow. Link to comment
idog
I agree, low flow will allow detritus to settle. Increase flow and use good mechanical filtration. I sometimes even take out a couple of rocks during water change and shake them in the removed water. Link to comment
