Help ID what's in my ZOA

Can anyone help me ID what this is? It looks like a little worm. See inside the circle of the pics and I also added a red line to show the length and angle of the worm... the worm is to the left of the red line.

 

Here is a video of it in action. It is extending to the right... look at the bottom right of the white spot:

Also I think my ZOA is growing on some other sort of animal with a water intake. The last picture point to a tube that seems to get big to suck in water then squeeze like it is spitting out the water.

 

Sorry that my camera sucks and hopefully someone could tell me if these critters are safe or not.

i could be wrong, but it looks like a peanut worm.
