pammygirl
I use everything...mag float, scraper, sponge...and a toothbrush. It really works to get in the rounded corners of my 8 gal. Quote Link to comment
RK_tek
I use it all. I even glued a credit card into a slotted dowel for scraping places my mag float wouldn't reach. I think my clowns stole my identity with the card though 1 Quote Link to comment
Arkayology
I use the Flipper. Quote Link to comment
CrazyEyes
Mr clean magic eraser (the original one). Quote Link to comment
vlangel
Mostly a scrubby pad weekly and a metal scraper down near LS monthly. Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Well. As usual, I need a multiple choice option. I checked off magnet cleaner as this is what I use most but I also scrape the coralline with a blade. Quote Link to comment

natalia_la_loca
Mag float with an Easy Blade Junior (razor blade holder) glued to it. Quote Link to comment
lil0618
For me I just use a razor blade in a blue handle thing because it deals with all the types of algae on the glass. I have a mag float but hardly use it because it doesn't get a lot of the algae, I think I'm going to use it as part of this protein skimmer: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/294953-cheap-how-to-diy-coke-bottle-skimmer/ Quote Link to comment
Lifer
I use plastic gift cards or credit card style card. They work great and you can get free cards anywhere. Use a couple times and dispose. Quote Link to comment
ny300z
mag float is awesome - tried mag flip and some others that sucked and then i have a razor blade crazy glued to a wooden cooking spatula for the coralline Quote Link to comment

SantaMonica
Voted scrubber pad, but I really don't clean my reef pond at all, because of course it has no glass. Quote Link to comment
Gilligan
(Filter floss) +1 Me too. Just make sure it is in true "pad" form. I tried the loose stuff once, a few fibers got snagged on the live rock, eventually finding it's way through the hydor nano. I would remove it, the next day another fiber would be hanging off it again. One day a fiber got caught on one of my fish, either through the mouth and out the gills, or caught around his arm-fin. I caught him in a net, the fish was able to get free of it by contact with the net material. Any how a scrubber pad on a stick works great for a quick once-over during the week, provided you have easy access to all the glass. I usually use a razor blade during my weekly water changes, gets any tougher stuff that may develop. I bought a few mag-floats. They don't seem to be appropriate for nano tanks. First of all, it leaves strips of algae requiring multiple passes, whereas the scrubber on a stick can lift easy algae with one pass. They are difficult to use on a rimless aquarium, the jittery slide action is sure to splash water out of the tank. Lastly, it's a little cliche to have those things stuck to the tank all the time. Don't get me wrong though, I cleaned them up and set them aside for use in a larger tank where they would be better suited. A toothbrush is also a useful accessory, as well as a paint brush. You might find it useful to trim the paint brush bristles to stiffen them up a bit, or add a point. (Just watch for paint brushes assembled with metals that you may not want in your tank.)
